Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Jack Wilshere missed the Premier League win over Cardiff City through injury.Just hours after describing the former Arsenal man as a ‘100million player’, the Chilean begrudgingly told reports after the game at the London Stadium his star man had suffered an ankle injury before the clash.2

Jack Wilshere has suffered a fresh injury blow

The midfielder has already missed nine games through injury since his free transfer from Arsenal in the summer, but came off the bench against Newcastle United on Saturday for a brief cameo where he grabbed a late assist.However, Pellegrini was forced to leave the 26-year-old out of the squad just days later.Speaking to The Sun, he said: “Jack has a small pain in his ankle, not the one he injured before.“If he is not 100 per cent then I was not going to select him.”2

The midfielder is yet to show his best for West Ham so far this season
